Comment of the Day: “‘Who Ya Gonna Call?’” Paranormal Ethics, and the Irony of Same”

This is an interesting response to my post on Skeptic Alarms Blog a few months ago.

Fellow blogger, Jack Marshall, ethicist and lawyer, had been discussing Ghostbusting and hauntings as being untrue, and I chimed in with my typical information about integrity, especially in regards to those who are ghostbusters and dealing with the earthbounds spirits.

 

In his response to the original post, he was very happy to hear from me, and the other side of the coin, so to speak. He saw that not all psychic mediums appeared to be frauds, and it was refreshing to him.

 

He actually stood back to survey his opinion of the matter, and I appreciated that.

 

So he posted another blog article a few weeks later (that I did not know about at the time) addressing the fact that because I had shared my thoughts, it gave him pause to reconsider his skepticism.

 

His article was refreshing to me to see that a skeptic would at least reconsider this thoughts. But some of the other responses from this readership were less polite about it. I guess there are hard core skepics just as in any field.

 

One person even invited me to take James Randi’s Educational Foundations Million Dollar Challenge to prove I am a psychic. Wow… what do you think? Should I do it?

 

Naw… I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. And I am not trying to persuade anyone about my “powers”. That had nothing to do with the post and article I am referencing. I know who I am. That’s all that is important to me.

Karma and Divine Source

I like to think of karma as a way of clearing or balancing life experiences. It is a way of evening out and learning fully from the experience of imperfections. I don’t believe it is a “get even” kind of punishment doled out by the universe or a vengeful God. But it is an opportunity to understand from all points of view about situations in life.

You know, if we are so bold as to venture out and become involved in a certain condition, then we are opening ourselves up to experience it fully. It is our obligation or responsibility to complete the cycle of learning through the complete experience.

Imagine, if you will, the very beginning of everything in the universe; only the beginning.  Pretend, just for a minute that nothing else exists yet. The beginning is a place that does not recognize the third dimension as we know it.  The third dimension has not even been created.  There are no layers of existence yet. This would be the point where there was only “pure potentiality” as Wayne Dyer calls it. This is the point from which all things are created. It is the point where there is freshness, perfection and total love.  It is love without exception.   It is love without condition.

The Divine Source (or what many call God, some even refer to as Zero Point) is the beginning place of creation.  Divine Source only recognizes perfection.  So if there is experience that stems from Divine Source, then it must be a perfect experience.

Let’s think of a logical way of understanding it. Imagine a piece of paper. The piece of paper is a representation of Divine Source: perfection. We also will imagine that someone draws a mark on the piece of paper with a crayon.

We’ll say that Mary sees a straight line. But when Bob looks at it, he sees a curve. Susan looks at it too and sees a blue streak. Stan however sees a red scratch.

But in reality, there is only a piece of paper. Anything else that is added to it or embellished on it does not change what it is. It is a piece of paper.

Now, Mary still insists that it is a straight line and starts to tell her family about the straight line. Just by planting the idea of a straight line, everyone she tells about it, sees the same things she does: a straight line.

An error in perception has just begun. But the story continues, because it is already implanted in the thoughts of family. So one of Mary’s family members talks to Susan (remember, she sees a blue streak). Although see only saw a blue streak to start with, she might even begin to see it as a blue straight line.

On and on the perceptions go, always adding something else, until the original piece of paper is marked up with all kinds of colors and blotches. The piece of paper is almost undistinguishable.

The reality of the situation is that the piece of paper is still a piece of paper. It is not a straight line, or a curve or a blue streak or red scratch. The thing has not changed, only the perception of it has changed by inaccurate thinking.

This happens much of the time in life, in all societies, all around the world. Every human being starts out as a divine plan of perfection – straight from the Source.  But while living our lives, we take on agreements to access the full experience of the situations we become involved in. So we are taking on the karmic agreement. During this time other people perceive us in certain ways that generate through years and years of mistaken thought. Sometimes our family beliefs are a composite of flawed perceptions. And we lose contact with the original perfection.

The best way I see to complete the karmic agreement without having to experience the full power of it, is to accept the responsibility of the situation. Accept that we are seeing it in error, or at least, we are not seeing the perfection of it.

It is important to allow ourselves to be responsible to see the perfection and the mistake that was incurred over generations. Then we can forgive the mistake.  We allow it to be perfect again. We clear all imperfection from the experience, so it can go back to the Source concept, its original state of being.

There is a wonderful affirmation that Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life, shares with us: “I am willing to change. I am willing to forgive.” It gives us an opportunity to at least consider the possibility that there can forgiveness through responsible action.

Take back your power...

There is so much power in our world. You see it every day…  on television, in the newspaper, in our school system and in our religious institutions. Everyone is trying to corner the power over people and be in control of others’ thoughts. It is surely a “power-play”.

Don’t let it affect you. Know that you are in control of your own thoughts and actions. Even if you make a mistake, it’s alright. You are only learning to manuever in this world. It’s okay. There’s no problem.

You are the most powerful being in the universe. That is because you are a child of the universe. You have that divine link to Creator. Know it in your heart. Be that divine, powerful person you were designed to be. Own it.

If you and all others become the divine humans you are meant to be, then my job is done. If I never have another consultation to assist others on their life path, because they saw the value of the information here, then I am pleased to have been of service.

Ghosts and Spirits: What’s the Difference?

After being a spirit medium for over 30 years, I’ve had a chance to understand the process of spirit leaving the body at death. Some think this is scary and paranormal, but there could be nothing more normal than our true story as Spirits being Humans.

The fact that I can communicate with the spirits might be strange and spooky to some people. But when you have a loved one that has passed away, you want to know if they are alright. So, who you gonna call?

I’ll be giving a lecture Sharonville Ohio Convention Center at the Victory of Light Expo[ http://www.victoryoflight.com] this weekend. [Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, 2012]. My lecture is called Discarnetes, Ghosts and Hauntings . It is on Sunday at 2:00pm in Room B. The last time I gave this lecture, I had a really excited group of attendees (75-80). They were all sitting on the edge of their chairs, and were full of questions too!

Here’s just a short sample of what I’ll be speaking about this weekend:

Spirits are our loved ones or other beings that have lived on the earth, but are now in the spirit world. They have gone through the entire process of evolving into what we understand as full transformation.

A ghost, on the other hand, is a lost spirit that has not fully embraced the transformation into the spirit world. It remains attached to earthly things or people in an attempt to re-assimilate.

Earthbound spirits are believed to be the spirits of deceased people who remain tied to the earth for a variety of reasons. Religious sects claim that all spirits are of the devil and are here to perform trickery, and lead people down the wrong path, but others declare that as we pass from this life, our sprit can remain earthbound.

It is unclear whether earthbound spirits can see and hear the world around them. Some are able to interact with the living, but many require the assistance of a psychic or medium to communicate.

Reasons for remaining earthbound vary, probably due to the life circumstances at the time of death. It is believed that the majority of earthbound spirits remain out of choice. Some may be confused souls seeking assistance in reaching the afterlife or have unfinished business that they feel must be completed before passing to the next realm.

Here are some reasons spirits remain earthbound:

1. Refusal to accept death
