As the second (one-year) program for 2012 finalizes, two more women are certified as professional psychic mediums: Vivian Harris of Dayton, Ohio, and Susan Williams of Crooksville, Ohio. They have made a major decision in their lives to expand who they are and how they envision their future in the metaphysical world.
Harris and Williams have participated in and completed the requirements for full certification in Off the Beaten Path Intuitive Art’s Program for Professional Psychic/Mediums. The program was implemented and facilitated by Reverend Melissa Leath in 2011, and structured around her latest book, Psychic Integrity, The Respected Practice of Modern-Day Mystics (Balboa Press, division of Hay House Publishing).
The preparation of the program was in the making for three years as Leath pulled over 30 years of experience into four levels of study: (1) Spiritual Awakening, covering grounding and foundational concepts, development meditation, and self-exploration; (2) Psychic Awareness, understanding earth vibrations, energy exercises, working with auras and energy fields; (3) Mental Mediumship, direct vibrational messages, public presentation and polishing, getting ready for responsibility and gallery demonstration; and, (4) Professional Psychic-Medium, understanding and incorporating your gift into service, creating your own reality, living your spiritual understanding, and preparing for professional work with the public.
The program included not only four workshops throughout the year, but also had mandatory accumulation of student study points. This was in the form of volunteer outreach in the field of metaphysics, verifiable attendance in other classes and workshops with reports, research and essays, critiques of other practitioners and experiences, practice readings, and notes on meditations. The year was full of purposeful study, so it was a specific plan of work in the spiritual and metaphysical fields.

Vivian Harris comes from a holistic health background with a specialty in Reiki healing and desire to assist people with their emotional and holistic needs. Susan Williams has worked with spirit energy and those who have passed over for her entire life, and has recently decided to pursue this area of expertise more diligently. She has participated in many workshops and classes in the metaphysical and holistic areas. Her interest is around grief counseling and verification of life after death. She is following her interest in volunteer hospice serve, after being involved as an emergency medical specialist providing care for the sick or injured in emergency medical settings. Williams also works closely with psychic energies of animals and pets.

So— I begin writing this new book about children that see sparkles, about kids that are highly empathic, and families that are having paranormal experiences. Where to begin?
Over the past three years or so, I have been saught-out (is saught a word?) by parents that are totally confused, afraid, worried, and do not have a clue as to what they should think or do with these psychic experiences happening in their families. Some have at least one child that sees ghosts — all the time. Some have kids that have prophetic dreams about family members and friends dying. Some have small children that keep seeing sparkley lights and try to catch them by jumping up in the air, and telling everyone about it.
What in the world is going on? I’m sure you have asked yourself that more than once. You are not alone. There are many other parents (and teachers, and guardians) with children who have had some kind of paranormal experience.
So — I am writing a book about it. And I am inviting you to leave your comments here on this blog to help me include things that need to be in it. Does your family have paranormal situations happening? Have you found a good way to handle it and help your child? Do you have any thoughts or experiences that should be important — maybe something that I haven’t addressed in other blog articles? Please share them in this blog comment areas below the article. So many changes are happening now, and we will look at many of these things so you will be more confident in working with your child in a meaningful way.
When children see ghosts, what’s a parent to do?
Is my child destined to be haunted for life?
Does my child need psychological help, or some kind of medications?
Should I believe what my child reports even if I don’t believe in ghosts?
Parents can feel all emotions from being paralyzed with fear, to being curious and supportive. If their children are scared by encounters with the spirit world, parents naturally fret about how to best help their kids through this fear. This may be a challenge since fear can be so intense that it causes the child – and sometimes the parent, too – to become physically sick from it.
If, on the other hand, the child feels open and comfortably connected to the world of ghosts, parents may feel less apprehensive. Either way, parents are sure to be baffled about how to proceed.
This information is put together first because people have sought me out for answers. Many of those answers I did not know at the time. So I went on a quest to find the answers. I consulted my own spirit guides and teachers for understanding to share.
The book is a kind of primer for paranormal understanding. But know that as many kids as there are that have psychic experiences, each one will be different, with specific symptoms and characteristics. Each symptom or characteristic may need a specialized approach depending on the child involved.
Each child is raised in a certain family, with genetic history, cultural differences, and social backgrounds. So the approach to their experiences will be different. But this book addresses generalities that will help you decide what is best for your family.
These are just a few of the things that will be covered in the book. I’ll be writing more articles here to share the journey, and some of the expereinces that my clients have had. This is your book. So I want to share as much of the preparation and writing as I can. It will be an ongoing account and recording of this text.

Introduction:
We all look forward to the start of a new year with great anticipation. And many of us have high hopes for the future, both personally and collectively. I share the predictions for 2013, as they were given to me.
Please note that the majority of this prediction emphasizes downsizing and co-operation among peoples. Take mind of your circumstances. Clear your space (both physical-living space, and personal-energetic space). Make room. You may be sharing your space with others in your family or neighbors.
Know that all predictions are based on current flow of energies and can be changed or lessened by prayer and intent.My hope is that you keep this in mind as you read. I also share thoughts I have through spiritual understanding concerning 2013, and all the changes that are coming. I wish you the best for the New Year, and hold a positive light for all of us as we move forward in this new energy.
End of the World?
No, this is not the end of the world! But it is definitely the end of the world as we know it.
I am sure you have noticed everything changing. Countries that have been dominated by dictators for generations have decided to voice their frustrations in a very loud way. The world economy is on very shaky ground right now, so there will be major changes with that. There are only a few of the mega-churches that are booming with attendance – the other churches are struggling to make it. The industrial era has shifted into a computerized-electronic model. Even the way our children learn has changed.
The past 2,000 years or so were called the Piscean Age. This was mainly during the Christian movement, when the powers-that-be felt our lives needed to be governed and regulated. We needed to be told what to do. Progress was slow and cumbersome, and the rights of human beings needed to be addressed. These were days of the Sign of the Fish (representing the Christian religion) when we were content to “Swim in the Water”.
Now, we have embarked into the Age of Aquarius. It has been known for at least 50 years by astrologers, and marked in musical and hippy history by the song “This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius,” by the singing group the Fifth Dimension. Now that we are at a Universal Shift, we must let go of the old way, and open to the new age. It is represented as learning to “Walk on Water”. In order to walk on water, you have to trust that it will work. I know, we have been led to believe that walking on water was a miracle that could only be performed by one person, and led to believe that person was special, and better than we are.
Seers and Mystics
To Walk on Water you have to be willing to release old baggage and let go of emotional issues. Your belief system must be revved up to be able to accommodate the energies coming in, and all the “unbelievable” things that will manifest. Your energy field and your physical body must also be shifted to handle the changes. – or you will be left out.
May your New Year be the best and most fascinating one you have ever had!
So then, here are my predictions for 2013:
Israel and Palestine relationship
I feel the problem between Israel and Palestine will continually deteriorate. It appears that President Obama has tried his best to keep the USA neutral. In this effort of neutrality, and the fact that the problem gets continually worse – with significant loss of life, I see the USA moving into the area – actually between the two countries, along their border – to buffer the fighting. The phrase “Buffering Body” comes to mind. The main reason for being there is to stop missiles from reaching their targets from either side, and to stop physical fighting at the border of each country. This position could influence our situation here at home and in the world.
Palestine rises up out of the water (about 4 feet)… I saw the physical area really rise. I do not see what causes this earth movement, but can only suspect it to be the result of some kind of underground upheaval. Of course, many might interpret this as rising above the oppressive situation it has been in for so many years. Information will be brought out concerning the circumstances between Palestine and Israel. The religious aspects of this tainted history will be made known on many arenas, including in the USA newscasts. I predict this will open many people’s eyes to the truth about religion as a whole, going back to the start of religious factions. It will be a grand awakening for religion vs. spirituality.
USA economic situation
Americans begin to finally take hold of the situation themselves. Once they realize they must handle their own business, co-ops begin to function better (or for the first time). This includes
1. Work co-ops,
2. Daycare co-ops (for children and seniors),
3. Food co-ops, which include shared garden areas/canning/food storage/distribution within family groups.
4. Living shelters (different from homeless shelters!)
In general, people are pooling their talents, resources and abilities to support each other and survive together.
Also, large and small companies start offering a better way to do business. They restructure their businesses to be outsourced by small, private owned business. On a grassroots level, the population is employed and nourished, not the way we think it will be, but in a satisfying way.
After the government is able to re-evaluate the way they gauge or measure unemployment and cost of living, we will see that people are living in a more wholesome way, taking charge of their own needs.
Solar flares and earth movements affecting USA
There appears to be a large, country-wide event that happens between mid-February through mid-March 2013. There seems to be earth movement and/or rumblings at key points just at the edge of the continental USA.
These areas could be as follows:
** from the North is International Falls/Winnipeg;
** from the East is Portland, Maine/Boston area;
** from the South is Tucson/Ciudad Juarez;
** from the West is San Francisco/Mt. Hood area.
These are areas that should be watched, and possibly be used as syncronistic events. They are either a trigger or result of extreme quake activity and upheaval between a three-point area.
Tri-Angle Area of: Mt Whitney, Denver, and Albuquerque.
This is the point of devastation that seems to involve major destruction with significant loss of life. It appears to be created by some atmospheric disturbance with possible result of airplane or jet crashes. The disturbance could be from massive solar flares resulting in electrical problems and strange shifts in air pressure. It also could be a rail system crash between Denver to San Francisco.
Government in general
I see president Obama still a very congenial personality in private, but in the workings of the government, he seems to take a stronger approach. He insists on both political parties working together to get things done, in an effort to benefit the country as a whole. His stronger tactics work. And the citizens of the country feel more confident about their lives.
Some major change involves Speaker of the House John Boehner. Not sure just yet if that refers to a change of mind, or a change in position/health issue?
Weather outlook
A snow blanket of at least 6 inches, maybe more will be in the Ohio Valley early in the 2013 winter season (probably January). The temperatures go well below zero, resulting in solid, frigid ground for at least two weeks. (I can actually hear the crunch of dry snow on a solid ground, and it looks calm and peaceful. So I would say there is no severe wind and storm involved.) Winter will have a good hold on this region and reset Mother Nature for the rest of the year. A very positive winter as far as the weather goes.
Medicine/Spirituality
Much more focus on the heart this coming year. It might start out being about heart medicine, but the medical field will change to heart-center healing. Emotions, mind health and kindness, which are major Eastern-philosophy concepts, will become common talking points for us here in the states. Centers that have already been operating in this direction become more pronounced and assist many people.

Through Indigo’s Eyes by Tara Taylor and Lorna Schultz Nicholson Hay House Publishing
I just wasn’t ready for a novel, I guess. As a teenager, I tried to read novels like all my friends. But finally I realized that I like the how-to books better; Seemed like I was learning something while I was reading. (Maybe I mistakenly thought I wasn’t wasting my time by sitting still and reading!)
But this book, Through Indigo’s Eyes really is like a how-to book. After all, it is basically a true story – like a biography. That means I can learn something while reading it. So it is okay. I know, that is a backwards way of looking at it, but I think it justifies why I really like it!
First of all, the story is very well defined. You can imagine where Indigo Russell lives, what her friends look like, how she feels – really feels about stuff in general, but especially about being psychic. Yes, Indigo is psychic, and has been for most of her life.
Many children these days are psychic, and have no idea what to do about it, how to handle the intense information, visits, or visions they receive. So these kids could really relate to Indigo’s story. It mostly takes place during her high school years, but has many back flashes of her earlier years when nothing really made sense, and she tried to quiet the voices in her head.
Then the unthinkable happened: Indigo had a vision of her best friend. Actually, it was her friend’s boyfriend with another girl! How could she tell her friend what she saw? Should she tell her? Maybe it wasn’t true. (But she knew from experience that all her visions came true.) Here we have the opportunity to look at how to deal with visions and psychic information.
Indigo Russell’s story is one that so many teens and young adults can associate with. She is very empathic and feels everything – all the experiences that someone else feels. The story also addresses other teenage situations such as lies, jealousy, and being misunderstood. It is a very intense read and once you pick it up, you cannot put it down, so make sure you have time to give to it.
Parents of tween-agers and teens will especially appreciate this book. It will help them understand what their child might be going through or experiencing. And I am sure teenagers will really love this book. In fact I am going to send a copy to my teenage great-nephew right now!

As I am writing this review, I am also listening to the CD that accompanies this book: such a wonderful tool! I am taken to a place of calm and relaxation. It follows the three sacred blessings of Spirit that Choquette mentions in her book: Grace, Guidance, and Gifts. The CD is about 17 minutes long, and is perfect to play as going to sleep at night.
Even though I have never read any of Sonia Choquette’s books, I have studied some of her articles and exercises found on the internet and her website (http://www.soniachoquette.com). And I have found her information on psychic abilities and intuition to be very powerful and enlightening. So it is not a surprise to me that this book would be such a great asset to spiritual study.
Many of us today are self-taught Light workers. That is to say, there are many people who have not studied with a group of people under the tutelage of a spiritual teacher. And since there are so many books and resources such as this one, it is easy to have your own home study. I have encouraged many of my own psychic development students to have sacred time for themselves every day. This helps to raise the personal frequency of the energy field (aura). In doing so, it is easier to access your personal spirit teachers, guides, and angels. But more important, it helps you to access your own Higher Self.
Choquette’s Grace, Guidance, and Gifts is a superb way to create or supplement sacred time and spiritual self-study. By using the book every day, you continue to contact Source through the Higher Self to receive Blessings in your life. She has the book divided into three sections: Grace, Guidance, and Gifts. With each section, there are prayers, a morning blessing, mantra for the day, and a personal message to speak out loud. Each section has about three weeks’ worth of daily study, and you can open the book at random to access each day. Or follow through from one day to the next taking in the book, step by step. The book is not meant to be read straight through, but to be savored as you progress through your studies.
If you are considering starting your own sacred time and studies, wanting to have some spiritual discipline to your life, you would very much benefit from this book. However, her understanding here includes much of the Christian belief. So know ahead of time, if you are opposed to that particular teaching.

Guess what? There are whispers of a new Ghostbuster movie, and it looks as if it is in the works. But somehow is taking longer than usual. Not sure why, but maybe producer/director conflicts.
Dan Aykroyd announced a few months into 2012 that Bill Murray was not going to appear in Ghostbusters III, and at this point the film had been indefinitely suspended. Harold Ramis (who is part of the writing team with Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg) said that the four main cast members from the original film may have minor on-screen roles: “The concept is that the old Ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity”. Aykroyd said Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis felt there had to be a way to do it without Murray.
Aykroyd’s comments about Murray leaving were that Stupnitsky and Eisenberg “wrote Bill the comic role of a lifetime, and the new Ghostbusters and the old are all well represented in it”; they wrote a “strong first draft”. In February 2012, Aykroyd said “The script must be perfect. We cannot release a film that is any less than that. We have more work to do.”
Dan Aykroyd originally created the role of Dr. Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters 1984) with John Belushi in mind, but had to rewrite the part for Bill Murray after Belushi died. So that particular role has had a certain “strange energy” about it from the beginning.
One of the best parts of the movie is the representation of ectoplasm (the special energy used by spirits and ghosts to manifest themselves). It is represented by animated slim in different parts of the film. The green ghost (Slimer) is affectionately referred to as the ghost of John Belushi. Aykroyd grew up in a spiritualist household and was able to represent many true-to-life aspects of ghosts and the spirit world.
Alas, as of February 2012, a third feature film of Ghostbusters remains in what is known as “development hell”. Development hell refers to a period of time during that this film is trapped in development. A film takes an especially long time to start production, or never does.
Since the first movie was released on June 8, 1984 and made $238,632,124 just in the United States, and the American Film Institute ranked Ghostbusters 28th in its AFI’s 100 Years…100 Laughs list of film comedies, we know that it would be a mistake NOT to finish the third chapter in the Ghostbuster saga! In this case, we must assume that Ghostbusters III will be done just on time!
