Are You Looking to Develop Your Psychic Abilities?

Over many years, I’ve become an experienced psychic medium through training: classes, workshops, trial and error, my own mishap experiences, sitting in meditation circle. And then gained even more experience when I started teaching classes, workshops, lectures and holding meditation circles. (And guess what? My own trial and error and mishap experiences are the strongest lessons I’ve learned!)

It’s the mishaps and the trial and errors that I want to share with you. They are protocols, practices and meditations that I did not learn from a teacher. Experience and my spirit guides became my teachers.

These are the things that I am sharing with you. These are the things I know work. All I ask of you is to take the time to use them, practice them and dedicate yourself to the practice.

I’ve taught these principals over the past 12-15 years. Sometimes by myself, sometimes with a co teacher. But what I have honed is a specialized system that can take you through the steps, building on each other to a proper psychic that can access spirit guides and information for yourself or others.

Now, if you are interested in some of the virtual classes and workshops I am teaching, look at the Development Meditation for Psychic Abilities (free) It includes a video lesson, guided meditation audio (I’m well known for my guided meditations), article, and interview I gave to Cinnamon Moon. This is the best way to find out how I teach. I know you’re going to enjoy it.

I cover beginning lessons and expand into progressive workshops There is an ongoing version you can use for your sacred time, and a full packet on how to connect with your spirit guides and get a deeper link. Everything is done in a very laid back and comfortable style. I do my best to make it easy to understand, but I want you to do your work and unfold your gifts. Plus, I am constantly adding and expanding my offerings.

If you are on the lookout for exploring your options for self-development, or expanding your practice and growth, check out my Intuitive Arts Learning Center. I’m always available for assistance and if you become a student, you can also join my Secret Doorway Interactive Page on Facebook. It’s great for support and connecting with like minded folks.

Does A Metaphysical Workshop Certification Really Prepare You?

Many people these days are very interested in being of assistance and working in healing fields. This could include Psychic or Medium Readers, Astrologists, Tarot Readers, Energy Healers, Coaches, Consultants, Spiritual Counselors, Ministers…the list goes on and on. It seems that with the shifting energies of the Universe, many are becoming aware, enlightened and knowing they are to be of service.

But let’s stop and think about this for a minute. Of course, being of service is a noble and important aspiration. But in doing so, you have to be aware of your limitation as far as assistance goes. You must be prepared. You must have experience.

You must be in the field, training under supervision for a certain period of time before you have the confidence to carry on by yourself.

I remember when I was ordained in the ministry of a spiritual church. I felt very inadequate…and I had been in training for well over 10 years, with on going classes in spirituality, meditation practices, metaphysics, work within the church, internship, countless hours of reading countless numbers of books. And all of a sudden, I had license to be a minister. To minister to people with problems, situations, challenges.

“Oh my God,” I said, literally. “Oh my God, am I really ready for this?” In one moment, while being ordained, I was finally aware of the responsibility involved with this opportunity! “What if someone comes to me for help with a really BIG PROBLEM?”

I had been working with people for years, assisting in spiritual counseling and mediumship. But I was awestruck. What if I told someone the wrong information? What if….what if…..what if…. I felt like I had been pushed out without any training.

But after I continued my work, serving my clients and following my ministry (my heart led passion), I realized I had been given plenty of training and experience over the years. If I ran into a problem I couldn’t work with properly, I had a battery of associates and colleagues to rely on. I realized I didn’t have to do it all. I didn’t have to do it by myself.

This sort of vocational trauma came after I had been sufficiently prepared. What happens when you have only attended one workshop, given a certification and turned out to do the work?

I’ll tell you what happens: You may feel so unprepared that you fall away from your chosen vocation and wander around not really knowing what to do, never really fulfilling your heart’s desire, your chosen path.

You may end up making severe mistakes. You may present yourself as capable of performing a service to your clients. But they don’t know you are without proper experience. Sooner or later, the faith and trust your clientele give you is lost.

Be sure to continue in your chosen field after your first certification. But go slowly. Take your time. Work with a mentor or someone you respect in the same field. You know they say, ‘Wine is not done before it’s time!” Wine actually has to ‘work’ for a period of time before it is ready to drink. Otherwise, you get a very bitter taste!
Be the glass of fine wine. Be the best you can be in whatever you choose to do!

Charge for the Gifts of Spirit?

grbannerdknow

Know Your Worth, and Be Worthy of Your Knowing
Taken from Psychic Integrity, The Respected Practice of Modern-Day Mystics, Chapter 8 The Bottom Line

Some students ask me: Is it right to charge for one’s services as a medium? After all, it’s a gift from God, isn’t it? It seems like you are cashing in on God’s goodness by taking money for it.

I love that question and I grappled with it myself for many years. When we were working within the Spiritualist Church, an associate medium got a small booth at area psychic fairs and charged for short readings. I was aghast! I felt she was disrespecting the spiritual gift by charging for her readings.

Several years later, I went to a psychic fair just to see what it was all about. There were readers and vendors, and several people giving lectures about various spiritual and metaphysical concepts. The attendees were hungry for information. Some were unfamiliar with the concept of spiritualism, but still were interested in finding out about spirit communication.

The short readings that attendees paid for introduced them to spirit communication and psychic abilities. I realized that there are other valid ways to present spiritual information as well as in church. Educating the public about spiritual concepts can be a respectable way to make a living.

Let me ask you this: Have you ever bought a beautiful painting because the artwork and colors were so special? Have you ever had your transmission rebuilt by an expert mechanic who had been recommended to you? Have you eaten at a five-star restaurant and tasted the exploding flavors of the chef’s specialty? Or bought an engaging musical recording by an aspiring singer/songwriter? All these people have God-given talents as well. Would you suggest these artists just give you what they do, without any kind of compensation? If you’ll notice, the artists and chefs and mechanics that are extremely talented and sought after receive the highest pay.

Being a medium, psychic or intuitive is no different. Many readers have been led to do this spiritual work full time. It is their ministry. Ministers from many religions receive a salary, and earn their living that way. Do not judge anyone who is asking for payment as an even exchange of energy.

When you go back to the thought and understanding that everything is energy, then money starts to make more sense. I believe that all service is worth a fair and even exchange of energy. Many times that means paying money for what services you receive. Other times, an exchange of materials or other services is appropriate. Many people embrace bartering as a means for this.

If you intend to make a living as a psychic or medium then you will want to address the idea of accepting money as a way of exchanging energy. Look around at other readers to get a good idea of what the market in your area is doing with charging for services. Be sure to stay within that market range. Many readers provide two different time frames for readings: one long session for full readings (usually an hour, depending on the type of reading you do), the other is a shorter session (to address specific areas or follow-up from another session).

Be sure to let your client know what the time frames are for each session, and then adhere to it by setting a timer. Starting on time and ending on time is essential. You create the time standard by the way you deal with it. I usually set my timer five to ten minutes before the session is over. I tell the client (before the session starts) that the timer will go off in time for us to wrap up the reading. That way they will know ahead of time when the session is done. If you honor the time set for the session and tell your client when it is over, then they will honor your time also.

Becoming Spiritually Mature as a Psychic Reader

Rose

Becoming spiritually mature requires a giant leap of faith. Along with that faith comes the realization that you are capable of making good, sound decisions. Having a responsible attitude is to know you are ready for spirit to move you toward the right decisions.

Growing in spirituality and psychic abilities requires the same learning process as growing from childhood to the teen years and on to adulthood. By the time you have matured to adulthood (spiritually speaking), you have learned how to trust in your own abilities.

With knowledge comes responsibility. Being spiritually mature involves great responsibility. Psychic readers are responsible for the information they share with their clients. To assist their clients properly, they need to be educated and mature enough in their spirituality to be a responsible source of information and service.

There is no excuse for wrong action. You aren’t the child you used to be. You have been given access to wisdom; you must use it correctly. Now is the time to adopt the attitude of responsibility. By your attitude, you assume a position. An attitude of responsibility implies that you are capable of adult action. As you grow in spirituality and develop your intuition and psychic ability, you realize the importance of your gift. This gift is meant to be used in love and to uplift everyone with whom you are connected.

5 Reasons You Didn’t Get a Good Psychic Reading (and what to do about it).

Have you ever had a psychic reading that just seems to be opposite from what makes sense to you? Did the psychic say things that came from out of left field? Were the names of in-spirit loved ones the medium gave you all wrong?

Join then club!

I think everyone who has ever gone to a reader, has had a reading that just did not “fit”.

So, what does that mean? Let’s look at the possibilities. Because there is no one-size-fits-all answer for this. Here are some thoughts about the reasoning behind goofy readings (please indulge me):

1) Psychic Readers and Mediums are human. Sometimes readers just have a bad day, and nothing “comes in” psychically, or their energy is low. They may be receiving information, but do not realize it is not on mark. If you recognize this (especially if you have had a good session with this reader before), then say so. Let the reader know that you don’t feel the reading is going well, and suggest you reschedule the session for another time. If your reader has integrity, they will probably recognize it and agree with you. .

2) If there was a friend with you during the reading. Your reader might be fine with your friend being there. But sometimes the friend will be a very high-energy person. And it can be difficult to separate the energies. Also, you might really want to have a PRIVATE session, but do not know how to say it. This could create conflicting vibrations. (I always ask the client what they want, “It is up to you if your friend sits in.”) It’s always best to go to your reading independently. If you wish to share the information received later, that is up to you.

3) Your energy might be flowing in an opposite direction at the time (upset, angry, depressed, etc.) You have a responsibility to come to your reading in a positive and relaxed mood. It is very difficult to read someone if they are angry and upset about something. Spend some time meditating or releasing the stresses in your life before you go. You might also ask your reader to lead you through a quick relaxation meditation as part of the session.

4) The reader might not be legitimate. I know it’s hard to believe, but some readers are not really psychic or mediums. They might think so, but they are not well trained in the appropriate way to receive information. They could be getting their information from a very low spirit. Or they might be giving you a scammed reading. If you suspect this, don’t wait until it is over. Do not let them mess around with your vibrations. After 5-10 minutes, you should realize that the session is not going well, or that you have a bad feeling with the reader. Stop the session. Stand up and say you are canceling the reading and will not continue. If you have already paid for it, ask for your money back. Do not apologize (cause it is not your fault). Then leave.

5) The reader can only connect with your energy if you are willing to be open. If you are not really ready to receive what a psychic or medium has to say, then it is not a good time to have a reading. In other words, if you do not want to know the answer, then do not ask the question! Also, do not assume what the answer is. Be open to the idea that the universe might have something better for you.

Lastly, know that you are in charge of your own body-mind-spirit. Pay attention to your own intuition. You know best for yourself. And when you go to a reader (psychic or medium) whatever is given to you should only be used as information to base your decisions. Your life is in your hands — no one else’s. Do not go to readers so that they can tell you what to do. Do not give your power away like that.

~May you always connect with the right reader for your personal needs…M/

Spirit Awareness

What Are Your Levels of Awareness?

Everyone has some kind of intuitive ability. Everyone is aware, on some level, of spirit; they are aware of those who passed away hovering close by; of impressions of people, places and things. Everyone has feelings about, or knows certain events before they happen.

Becoming intuitively aware is the main reason to develop or unfold. This awareness helps with personal and spiritual growth and understanding.

The only reason you may not be aware of things intuitively is that your life-style may have squeezed intuition out of your awareness. It is still there, but you may be so overcome by your duties in this world, you are not paying attention to the soft murmurs of your inner self.

It is easy to get wrapped up in the physical world. Society readily stresses the physical and mental components of our lives. As a result, the spiritual aspect of life has been diminished.

Body-Mind-Spirit

As humans, we live in three different levels: body, mind and spirit. Leaving out one section creates an imbalance. Not having enough time for one of these means your life is lacking one-third of its existence.

Life is not just the day-to-day events. It is a complex maze of experiences and learning how to deal with them; impressions and expressions, feelings and emotions, physical interactions with people, and making sense of it all.

When born, humans are fully connected with spirit and the inner self. Over the next two to three years, young children become deprogrammed from the spirit side of life and programmed into the third dimension. Most things known on the soul level is stripped away as they are indoctrinated into the physical dimension of earth.

Parents and loved ones begin their mission to help the child understand what earth is all about. The child becomes more distant from their inner soul understandings. Soon the true self is just a dream or image almost lost in the transition into the physical. “…the day of death (is) better than the day of birth,” according to the book Ecclesiastes 7:1, from the Old Testament. This has been commonly expressed in the saying “weep at a birth, and have joy at a death.” This must refer to all the good, although misguided intentions thrust on a baby. Eventually, the child loses all conscious contact with the strongest energy there is. Joy at death refers to flowing back and reuniting with what was known, but lost. Why did we forget? It was the human thing to do. But now, we realize there is something to remember.

Since we had a mask put over our eyes when we entered this world, we need to take time to reconnect with our spirit selves. That is why it is good to gather friends with like interests to sit together for unfoldment.

5 Thoughts for Psychic Etiquette

crystal_ballAIt seems so natural to me — like obvious, I guess. But there are some people out there that do not have a clue about proper psychic dealings with other people. So I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my thoughts on the subject.

Thought 1. Do not jump into other people’s energy fields (auras) with out their permission! This has got to be the most obvious one, but will get a lot of flack from major groups of people (especially those who love the Long Island Medium). To always “receive” information from spirit guides or loved ones of other people shows that you are always open and do not respect boundaries. How would you like it if someone walked into your home, without knocking first, and just rummaged through your underwear drawer and personal financial papers? Does the word “violated” mean anything to you? Of course, you would feel violated! That person had no permission to barge into your home and go through your things.

But that is the same scenario if you barge into someone’s personal space without permission.

Let me be clear: You must ask for permission BEFORE you enter their aura! — not after you already have a message for them.

The energy field (aura) is a place where each of us holds our thoughts, experiences, decisions, and personal feelings. It is sacred space, and not to be entered into without permission.

Thought 2. Keep your spirit communication to yourself. I have witnessed way too many mediums and psychics who continually share what their guides are telling them like it is part of the constitution or something. Really. Everyone has a connection to their Higher Selves and Angels. You do not have to tell us what your guides are telling you. We all have intuition and psychic abilities. (The only time this would be appropriate is during a development circle, when sharing is encouraged.)

Thought 3. Inspire others to unfold or develop in their own time and abilities. We each have our own rate of development and desire may be different than yours.

Thought 4. Always send Light and Love to all people and all situations. If you engage in negative thinking or commenting in a hurtful, vengeful, or even satirical way, you are fueling the growth of more negativity. This actually brings more negativity pulled toward you, in ways you might not have ever imagined.

Thought 5. Keep your own energies as high as you can. You can only benefit from your own spirit connections, when you are sure they are high vibrational entities. To do this, think positive thoughts, keep high values, and always expect the best from others.

Well, this particular vent is over, for now. — I may have to do this on a regular bases!
Blessings…Melissa
