Sign up now at http://www.psychiconlineclasses.com and immediately receive a FREE Introductory Lesson to get you started.

I’ve been teaching psychic/mediumship classes in one way or another for over 11 years and have lectured and presented workshops since around 1990. During this time I have realized that many people want to develop their gifts and abilities but sometimes need a little support or encouragement. Sometimes they can’t get to local groups or have the right timing to attend them.

That’s when I decided to provide lessons in video form to present online. And create guided meditations in audio to compliment that lesson. Each monthly lesson is different and does not follow any particular progressive plan. So they are intuitively created for the time frame and needs of the class.

Can’t make it to local classes? Then this option is just for you! Self Study as You Want It! For those of you who want to study with Melissa Leath, but live too far away to attend onsite classes, this is a wonderful way for you to participate in your own self-development, only in a closed, private group. Held once a month, with projects to keep you working at home. They are for unfoldment and development of psychic awareness and mediumship awakening. Both novice and seasoned students benefit from these classes. A warm and safe environment has come from these classes and all are welcome.

YOU CAN START AT ANYTIME

You can join anytime during the month and will be sent directly to your Free Introductory Class. Then, on the first week of the month, you get your monthly class packet.

Who should attend? — Have you been getting psychic “hits” at different times of the day? Do you think you are psychic, but not sure? Are you interested in gaining control over this gift? Would you like to share with others of like-mind, in a safe environment? Then this is the class for you.

Class Format:

  • Monthly Online Psychic Development Class (Beginners or Experienced)
  • Video Package sent to you the first of each month, with follow up exercises.
  • Study the program when you have the time!
  • Guided Meditation Audio
  • Group interaction on a secret Facebook page the last Thursday of the month.
  • Many lessons taken from Melissa’s book “Psychic Integrity”.
  • When:

And the Facebook Interaction will take place the last Thursday of the month. — In-between, you have the opportunity to watch the video, listen to the audio, and practice your development meditation.

I hope to see you soon!

Does A Metaphysical Workshop Certification Really Prepare You?

Many people these days are very interested in being of assistance and working in healing fields. This could include Psychic or Medium Readers, Astrologists, Tarot Readers, Energy Healers, Coaches, Consultants, Spiritual Counselors, Ministers…the list goes on and on. It seems that with the shifting energies of the Universe, many are becoming aware, enlightened and knowing they are to be of service.

But let’s stop and think about this for a minute. Of course, being of service is a noble and important aspiration. But in doing so, you have to be aware of your limitation as far as assistance goes. You must be prepared. You must have experience.

You must be in the field, training under supervision for a certain period of time before you have the confidence to carry on by yourself.

I remember when I was ordained in the ministry of a spiritual church. I felt very inadequate…and I had been in training for well over 10 years, with on going classes in spirituality, meditation practices, metaphysics, work within the church, internship, countless hours of reading countless numbers of books. And all of a sudden, I had license to be a minister. To minister to people with problems, situations, challenges.

“Oh my God,” I said, literally. “Oh my God, am I really ready for this?” In one moment, while being ordained, I was finally aware of the responsibility involved with this opportunity! “What if someone comes to me for help with a really BIG PROBLEM?”

I had been working with people for years, assisting in spiritual counseling and mediumship. But I was awestruck. What if I told someone the wrong information? What if….what if…..what if…. I felt like I had been pushed out without any training.

But after I continued my work, serving my clients and following my ministry (my heart led passion), I realized I had been given plenty of training and experience over the years. If I ran into a problem I couldn’t work with properly, I had a battery of associates and colleagues to rely on. I realized I didn’t have to do it all. I didn’t have to do it by myself.

This sort of vocational trauma came after I had been sufficiently prepared. What happens when you have only attended one workshop, given a certification and turned out to do the work?

I’ll tell you what happens: You may feel so unprepared that you fall away from your chosen vocation and wander around not really knowing what to do, never really fulfilling your heart’s desire, your chosen path.

You may end up making severe mistakes. You may present yourself as capable of performing a service to your clients. But they don’t know you are without proper experience. Sooner or later, the faith and trust your clientele give you is lost.

Be sure to continue in your chosen field after your first certification. But go slowly. Take your time. Work with a mentor or someone you respect in the same field. You know they say, ‘Wine is not done before it’s time!” Wine actually has to ‘work’ for a period of time before it is ready to drink. Otherwise, you get a very bitter taste!
Be the glass of fine wine. Be the best you can be in whatever you choose to do!

    MOVIE REVIEW: Ghostbuster (2016)

    ghostbusters2016A
    (Photo: ibtimes.com)

I have been waiting oh, so long for this next make of the classic Ghostbuster movies. After all the hoopla about second rate remakes, I have gone to the theatre and watched it in regular screen, not the 3-D version. I did not want the visual effects to overpower the way I saw it for the first time. Sometimes 3-D can be the spectacular thing and you forget the actual movie.

But before I tell you if I liked it or not, let me share with you some of the back story.

First off, this Ghostbuster 2016 is not a “proper sequel” that the Ghostbuster cult fans have been screaming for, like the two other movies from 1984 and 1989. It is a reboot. It is an entirely new version. And there is a reason for it.

The third film for Ghostbusters had been on the drawing board ever since the release of Ghostbusters II in 1989. There had been several steps of progress, only to be taken back to square one. There was no doubt that the fans wanted another one (me included). The problems came in many guises. Bill Murray, who was an original cast member for one reason or another refused to make a committed promise to the new project. Also, the death of fellow cast member Harold Ramis (1944-2014) who played the part of Egon Spengler obviously set back the development of the next movie. Different plots and themes were discussed (including one where Bill Murray’s character was transformed into a ghost, and another in which the Ghostbusters went to hell), but were always never finalized.

Check out this discussion from Melissa McCarthy about the reboot ideas: Click Here

So, Sony and Columbia Pictures decided to reboot the series. Many of the original cast members were cast in cameo roles (I love looking for cameo spots). And an all-female cast (Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones) was announced in 2015. This sparked more controversy.

So, come hell or high water, Ghostbusters 2016 was on its way. And I was totally stoked.

Just what is Ghostbusters? Or- Have you been living under a rock?

    ghostbusters2016
    (Photo: dailymotion.com)

Ghostbusters is a supernatural comedy. Filmmaker Paul Feig directed it and shared writing it with Katie Dippold. It was released in the United States on July 15, 2016, in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. It’s about four women (from different live experiences) who start a ghost-catching business in New York City. It seems to follow similar lines in the plot from the original stories of bringing several people of expertise together in unusual manner (of course) to investigate paranormal occurrences, research supernatural science, and catch/contain ghostly apparitions with their untested equipment.

And, understanding as we should, that this story is purely for our comedic entertainment, we watch all manner of unusual events, wonkiness, misguided bureaucratic intervention, and pure unadulterated joy as the women of ethereal escapades ramble through our minds.

Kate McKinnon plays part of Dr. Jillian Holtzmann, eccentric (too say the least) enegineer, who successfully tests the Holtzmann’s Proton Containment Laser. She is totally her own woman. So wacky and fully in control of her super-knowledge. She is my new-superhero.

Melissa McCarthy plays the part of Abby Yates, co-author of a book which theorizes the existence of paranormal phenomenon such as ghosts. McCarthy must be my favorite contemporary actor of the 21Century. She could have totally souped-up this role, but kept her grounded and loving in nature. She could easily have been the character you wanted to hate, but instead was the catalyst that kept the women together. I believe this speaks to Melissa’s superb acting ability.

    ghostbusters2016Wiig
    (Photo: aceshowbiz.com)

Kristen Wiig playing Erin Gilbert, who also authored the same book on paranormal phenomenon. But she felt no one took her seriously and went the road of respectable teacher at Columbia University. When she witnessed a real ghost with the others, she was on-board with the investigations. The level-headed person of the team, who always got slimed (Yeah, there was a lot of that!)

    ghostebusters2016Patty
    (Photo: theguardian.com)

Comedian Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan, the un-paranormal addition to the team. Known because of her underground expertise in the rail system and historic knowledge of New York City, Leslie plays the role of “I’ll just tell you how it is” kind of person that helps ground the other roles. It would not have been a Ghostbuster Team without her! I consider this a break out role for Leslie Jones and you will see so much more of her. I think this just scratches the surface of her acting talents.

    So what did I think?

Well, I went into this wanting it to be another great Ghostbuster film. And I knew that because it was an all-female cast, it could be problematic. But I had high hopes.

It did not disappoint me! I love it! Will go see it in 3-D now. And buy the DVD just as soon as it comes out!

Be well, my friends, Melissa Leath

Second Program Completed: Two More Professional Psychic Mediums are Certified.

    certification2012a

As the second (one-year) program for 2012 finalizes, two more women are certified as professional psychic mediums: Vivian Harris of Dayton, Ohio, and Susan Williams of Crooksville, Ohio. They have made a major decision in their lives to expand who they are and how they envision their future in the metaphysical world.

Harris and Williams have participated in and completed the requirements for full certification in Off the Beaten Path Intuitive Art’s Program for Professional Psychic/Mediums. The program was implemented and facilitated by Reverend Melissa Leath in 2011, and structured around her latest book, Psychic Integrity, The Respected Practice of Modern-Day Mystics (Balboa Press, division of Hay House Publishing).

The preparation of the program was in the making for three years as Leath pulled over 30 years of experience into four levels of study: (1) Spiritual Awakening, covering grounding and foundational concepts, development meditation, and self-exploration; (2) Psychic Awareness, understanding earth vibrations, energy exercises, working with auras and energy fields; (3) Mental Mediumship, direct vibrational messages, public presentation and polishing, getting ready for responsibility and gallery demonstration; and, (4) Professional Psychic-Medium, understanding and incorporating your gift into service, creating your own reality, living your spiritual understanding, and preparing for professional work with the public.

The program included not only four workshops throughout the year, but also had mandatory accumulation of student study points. This was in the form of volunteer outreach in the field of metaphysics, verifiable attendance in other classes and workshops with reports, research and essays, critiques of other practitioners and experiences, practice readings, and notes on meditations. The year was full of purposeful study, so it was a specific plan of work in the spiritual and metaphysical fields.

Reverend Leath is a Life Visionary and Spiritual Educator. Her gifts in service include mediumship, spiritual counseling, licensed minister, author and lecturer. It is a life-long dream to be able to share her experiences and learned lessons in the metaphysical and spiritual areas with others. ( http://www.MelissaLeath.com )

Vivian Harris comes from a holistic health background with a specialty in Reiki healing and desire to assist people with their emotional and holistic needs. She has participated in many intuitive development classes and other holistic workshops, and is continuing unfoldment of her psychic and medium gifts. She is also a Divine Grace Healing facilitator.

Susan Williams has worked with spirit energy and those who have passed over for her entire life, and has recently decided to pursue this area of expertise more diligently. She has participated in many workshops and classes in the metaphysical and holistic areas. Her interest is around grief counseling and verification of life after death. She is following her interest in volunteer hospice serve, after being involved as an emergency medical specialist providing care for the sick or injured in emergency medical settings. Williams also works closely with psychic energies of animals and pets.

“Vivian and Susan are ready to add their glowing energies and to be of service to those in need of their assistance. I am so proud of them, and their dedication. It has been my pleasure to have facilitated their expansion of abilities.” ~~Melissa Leath

    What About Ouiji Boards?

Interesting… I just got a call from a college student, who was studying jounalism. She was preparing a magazine article assignment for her class, and was calling people to add information to her chosen topic. The subject was about paranormal activity and spirit communication. Since I have been a medium and metaphysical teacher for over 30 years, she found my information on the internet, and decided to call me.

Her main focus was on how interest of the paranormal has become so much more prevalent. It just came back to media again and again. But what was even more interesting was her next question.

She asked me about Ouija boards. The Ouija (trademarked name) is a board with letters and numbers on it. Generally, two people sit together (knees touching) and lightly place their finger tips on a planchette (small, light board with easy moving casters, that allow a pointer or window to point out each letter — forming words) This is supposed to create contact and communication with spirits from the “other side”.

This student journalist asked me why so many have a negative response when she mentions this “game”.

I remember as a young teenager, one Christmas gift that all three of us girls received. We always got some kind of boardgame to play as a family. That particular year we got a Ouiji board! Of course, my parents, being Methodist church-going people, and very conservative, had no idea of the reputation of this paranormal divination tool!

We kind  of played around with it and marveled at the almost instant movement we were able to get. And Dad teased us about spooky stuff happening. (He loved to scare us unmercilessly, especially during ghost movies.) But we never really knew why that pointer moved when we touched it. And after awhile, it was put in the closet for several years.

After I moved out of the house and married, my sisters, who were in high school by then, came to the house and asked us to keep the Ouiji board. They did not want it in the house with them! They proceeded to explain what had happened. They were together with another girl friend one evening, during a sleepover. And of course, they took turns trying out the mysterious Ouiji board. They asked silly questions about this boy and that boy, and when would they get married, etc.

Then, (why, I do not know) they asked when the friend would die! It said she would die when she was 18 years old. I guess it really freaked them out, especially since they were so close to that age. And they packed up the board and asked us to take it.

We did, and I did not want to see it, so I took it to the basement and placed it on a shelf in a storage area and closed the door.

The next year, their friend came down with a very quick infection and died. She was 18 years old.

The Ouiji board stayed in the basement until we moved from that house. When we were packing things, I went down to clear out the basement and throw away unused things — including the board. But it was not there. It was gone. I do not know where it went. And I will not ask. Do not want to know…

What I can tell you is this: when using any form of spirit communication tool, always treat it with respect. Ask that only the highest and best vibrations be contacted. Say a prayer of protection for  yourself with a white light of protection or a pink light of love. Do not act silly. It is a very serious thing when you connect with the spirit world. It is not a game.

Many years of study and training is needed to work with the world of spirit. And if you do not take it seriously, then do not fool with it at all.

You can find out much more about developing your mediumistic abilities by studying my book Psychic Integrity, The Respected Practice of Modern Day Mystics. It will show you how to start with integrity and form a solid, loving foundation to unfold those gifts.

What experiences have you had with these types of psychic and spirit tools?

    Out of Body? Get Grounded

    Are You Out of Body?

These days of transitions are surely interesting: Up one day and down the next; in the money one week, broke the next; total comprehension one moment, not a clue the next.

How do you cope with it?

Most of us tend to go out of body. We deal with the day-to-day stuff, sure enough. But when it comes to being present and aware, totally in charge of our lives, we just aren’t available. In fact, a large group of us–yes, even the “meta-people”, are electing to float in astral space, than to be present in the physical.

If you are not understanding my meaning, try these exercises:

    • Sit quietly for five minutes only paying attention to how your body feels. Do your shoes pinch your feet? Is your waistband too tight? Are you breathing shallowly or in the full abdomen? Are there any aches or pains? Take stock of your body parts…Check in on the liver: what is it saying? Are your lungs in good working order? Are you on good terms with your heart?
    • Now, go to the pile of bills or papers you’ve been collecting. Look at them. Act on them. Make a plan for payment. Make phone calls concerning the bills, if need be. File your papers. Organize or throw away. Take charge of that all important area of your life. This may take several hours. But it helps get you in your body.

If you have trouble staying in the task, or you let your mind wander in other directions, then you probably are living most of your life out of body.

Usually, a major event that is difficult to deal with, sorrowful or extremely painful will throw you out of body. It’s the ultimate way of disconnecting with the thing that is difficult. Over a period of time, it’s important to deal with the situation. Then you are present and physically aware again. But many of us keep finding ways of not dealing.

You may recognize someone around you that is very spacey or in “la-la land”. I’ve heard the discription “she is airy-fairy”. That person has successfully disconnected with physical reality.

Some may argue they are striving to be more spiritual and connected with the Spirit Realm. But my question is this: Why bother being in the physical body? Haven’t we agreed to experience the third dimension? Aren’t we spirit–being humans?

Then it is important to blend the three aspects of self: body, mind and spirit. We become a whole person, perceiving reality–totally perceiving reality.

    Blessings until next time…M

    What Next, after Avatar?

I predict the Tim Burton remake of Alice in Wonderland will be the next outrageous movie this year.  Not just an updated version of an old yarn, but truly a fascinating depiction of Alice all grown up and unhappy with what society expects of her. (Something everyone can relate to at least once in their lives.)

Tim Burton, director and producer of memorable movies such as, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, Charlie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and  Beetle Juice,  has pushed a great intellectual story to its edge, both visually (3-D, and in realist terms) and metaphysically.

Many paranormal and psychotronic gurus have dissected the plot and symbolism of Alice in Wonderland for many years. The story speaks to us on a much deeper level.

Going down the rabbit hole, is a huge metaphor relating to retreating into the unconscious, or dream world. The descent is associated with the land of the Goddess, under the forest and streams. The farther she falls, the deeper Alice goes into the subconscious mind and slowly looses the ability to discern reality from illusion.

Needing a gold key to go through a special door, following the White Rabbit, represents a search for spiritual truth. The rest of the story is a continuation of that search: Something that is becoming more important for us to recognize, every day.

As the movie presentations this year move into more and more 3-D technology, the spiritual and metaphysical world opens up to us. The 3-D door actually helps us shift into the realization of multi-dimensionality. We expand our perception, and look at things in a new angle.

    Good.

It’s about time we opened our eyes to what is illusion and what is reality. Those who have eyes will see; those who have ears will hear.

This version of Alice in Wonderland, I predict, will be one of the highlights of this year, spiritually speaking, since the fascinating and mystical Avatar.  And many of our younger generation will “see” and “hear”.

Due to be released on March 5, 2010, check it out. I certainly am.
